Poet's Notes is a series of articles on the poems that I have written. These articles contain discussions on both the poem's Form and Meaning.
Poem: The Shepherd Lamb
**Note: this poem was originally published as “The Lion Lamb.” After writing these Poet’s Notes, I’ve realized that “Shepherd” is a more descriptive word to the poem as a whole.
“The Shepherd Lamb” is a poem that was originally thought of years ago, though finally written in this last year. I often have ideas for poems that take a while to find their way onto paper. The poem was inspired by 1 Samuel 17, when Saul questions David concerning his ability to fight Goliath.
