The day dawns in freshly spoken light and spreading, makes the sky alive and wide, while the earth burgeons beneath the might of the Sun King in his burning stride. The birds beckon below as bards of nest and man keeps the land the Lord provides; until the dusk, when all is seen as blessed and all lay down their heads in holy rest. At night, a woman hums to one who cried. The fish are lulled in currents from the west as the Moon Queen tends the flowing tide, a low colliding, lined on shores of white. The never-sleeping sea breathes, confides, and whispers on the darkness of the night.
This poem is a Sal, featuring a chiasm that incorporates the seven days of Creation as given in Genesis 1.
