Poem: The Black Dove

This strange poem appeared in my mind a while ago and has spent plenty of time in development. It took over a year to finally get to the point where I considered this poem to be in a finished state. This wasn’t consecutive time; I would work on it for a week or so, then it would sit for a month. Its subject and nature has made it difficult for me to know whether it was complete or not. I still am not entirely sure. But, in some ways I think I needed to “release” this poem and let it live on its own for a while. And so here it is before you.
