While Adam slept, his side was cleaved for Eve,
The only woman to be born from man,
As sweetest honey won for his reprieve,
Drawn from a royal body, torn and tan.
So too was Judah’s heir with hanging frame
Found, from which both blood and water ran.
Yet in the trees he later called her name,
Awake, as gardener and groom the same.
She had seen the spear’s piercing plan
To rend his temple chest with Eden’s shame
And she remembered Noah and his clan,
Who hid in him within the water’s weave.
The bride will be so bound to him again,
Cleaved to Christ on New Creation’s eve.
